Ideals: Protect, Flee, Obscure – I must protect the world from the secret that I know, and the danger it could unleash. I try to keep on the move, fearing capture and becoming uncomfortable if in one place for too long. I seek to understand the danger I face without directly comprehending it so that I may defend myself from my enemies without going mad in the process.
Flaws: Lose Control, Compulsive Notes – I have little resistance against my own outbursts and the madness I feel creeping in. I am concerned that some evil entity or cult seeks to use me for a horrible purpose, with sane consent or not. I take notes, even if I’m out of paper or asleep; I have no control over this and the notes are both gibberish to others and horrible to me. I keep them in hopes of finding someone who can help me understand them.
Bonds: Destroy, Pursuit, Location, Fled – I’m worried that the secret could destroy the world if in the wrong hands. Someone is after me, hoping to extract the secret. I know of a place of great significance related to the secret, but only by its feel; I have never been there, except perhaps in my dreams. I fled family and friends, both to learn more about my secret and to keep them safe from my outbursts or attack from those who pursue me.
Personality Traits: Gathering Knowledge, Fear of Pursuit – I am always trying to gather knowledge about my secret, hoping it will help me understand the motives of those who pursue me. Still, I try to avoid understanding the full nature of my secret, for fear it will drive me mad. I’m constantly paranoid, fearful that I am being noted or followed because of my secret.

Elathanyë aen Schirrú (granddaughter-of-Schirrú) is a ghost elf (a tel’quess subrace resulting of moon elves breeding with wood elves), and a runaway from her home within the ruins of the ancient kingdom of Eaerlann. She eschews her surname for several reasons obvious from her story, but also so that those who knew of her grandmother’s unique power would draw the connection quickly.
As she grew out of adolescence significant effort was expended to sequester the young “Source” (a colloquialism, referring to her extensive inherent magical powers) away from the world or people who might trigger a wild surge from her, an instinctual reaction to emotional triggers which she may encounter. Thus, as much for her protection as their own, she was avoided by most, but also was not afforded much in the way of training in order to shape her powers to a use. Obviously, this has created fertile ground for instability and resentment.
Elathanyë left home only a short while ago, resentful toward her family and people for isolating her. A quiet shame in elvish society, she is uncomfortable with the silence surrounding her future or present circumstances, and so has decided to find out for herself what her life will hold. She has some… naïveté yet left to be lost, and while she is several decades too early to have “earned” her adult name, she nonetheless shed her child name when leaving the High Forest, heading west toward Neverwinter before turning south, toward Waterdeep.
Adventurers are forged from all types and ages of beings, and she is determined to see if she can escape the dark fate which met her maternal grandmother; she’d rather not wait until her people felt her to be “ready”, either.
