There is perfection in Balance.
Good and Evil, Black and White, Law and Chaos, Dark and Light, the extremes of nature provide ways of seeing and ways of hiding both obvious and subtle Who would think to look into the brightest Light to see what some would prefer was hidden? And there in Darkness, in view for all to see, may be the most Innocent.
I knows this truth, as would anyone who lives in Shadow and uses their eyes to See.
To see a World in Balance, one must understand that there is a force in Balance that exerts its Will to keep it so. I seek to become one of those forces.
I came to the Material Plane in search of a way to externalize and internalize Shadow. It could not be manifest by a person while living in Shadow as it is already all surrounding, preventing that necessary exertion of balance upon one’s surroundings.
Wandering the land after stepping through the portal, I came across a temple where I discovered many people seeking improvement to themselves in search of physical perfection. I decided that these people had something to teach me and thus I discovered the teachings of Irori and the path that that once mortal man followed to achieve his perfection.
After several years I realized that there was nothing more to be learned while staying at the temple. Phe priests and clerics seemed more interested in policing the followers and ensuring that their will remained unchallenged. I told them what I thought of this encroachment onto the paths of those there at the temple and they… reacted poorly to my statements.
After leaving the temple, I wandered through Vardu for several months, but all I saw was more of the same, those in power hiding in their brilliance to conceal all that they wished no one to see.
I quickly discovered that it wasn’t just the priests and clerics in the temple who took poorly to my observations about their natures…
I left Vardu and wandered through Avistan in search of a place to hone my skills and better myself but the hustle of that country left me disquieted; but there I did learn there that martial skills alone would not allow me to reach the level that I sought and I apprenticed myself to a Magus in the southern reaches to begin exploring how to use the ebb and flow of magical abilities to find my Balance.
After leaving my Master I began my travels north in search of a place where I could train and improve….
